Marmayogi will put an end to Pyramid Saimira
Well, producing a movie worth Rs.100Crores is not as easy of ordering pizzas from your nearest centres. It's a risky project and for sure making a film centered on back old 7th century requires lots of courage. Of course, Kamal Haasan is a man of experiments whose desires are to take Tamil Cinema to the higher level in the category of World Cinema. But, none of the team members are sure about the film making high collections in box-office. For instances, take the list of Kamal Haasan's exceptional films, 'Aalavandhan', 'Hey Ram', 'Anbe Sivam' and more. These movies won laurels across certain audiences and honored with awards , but their collections at box-office weren't so pleasing. So, let's wait and see how Kamal Haasan tries something different in hitting bull 's eyes at both box office and getting it nominated for world famous awards.

Pyramid Saimira in Marmayogi
Fine @ Bollywood, Pyramid Saimra hadn't produced more successful film except Hall Bol directed by Rajkumar Santhoshi. It had taken around 63 theatres in Maharastra and more theatres across North India under its control. But after incurring great loss, PS Swaminathan has shut all their projects over there and quite North Indian film industry as well Bollywood.
At present, there only hope is Kamal Haasan's Marmayogi, a 100Crores project that for sure wouldn't be a chart-topping flick in box-office. It is sure to win laurels and awards across the globe for the unique theme of 7th century as the backdrop, but wouldn't fetch good collections at box-office as it usually happens.

Shobana in Marmayogi
My goodness! The list of heroines for Marmayogi keeps extending and we think Kamal Haasan should be feeling enough with it. After roping in Hema Malini, Trisha and Shreya, the latest heroine joining the long queue is none other than actress Shobana who has been the classiest performer of all times. She has earlier paired up with Kamal Haasan for the film 'Enakkul Oruvan' and now she has been offered to play a meaty role.
Shooting for the film would commence by next month in Mumbai and major portion is scheduled at Southern, Western and interiors of Karnataka. Again, a photo shoot involving Kamal Haasan and Shobana would be held at AVM Studios while rest of the heroines Trisha and Shriya are involved in vivid practice of enunciating Tamil dialogues in the style of back ancient days of 7th Century.

Kamal's 'Marmayogi' 4-heroines
Next to Kamal Haasan's dream project 'Dasavatharam', the magnum opus 'Marmayogi' has already made it to the news stirring expectations that it will be nothing short of incredible.
Latest buzz is a new technique of spray makeup is being used in this film. An accolade is that this is first ever happening in the history of Indian Cinema. The latest news is about the heroines of this film.
Acquainted news is that Trisha has already been roped in to play the heroine. Shreya has also rendered her consent to appear alongside Trisha in another lead role. Now it is learnt that there will be 4-heroines in this film. Along with the newbies, the yester year's dream-girl Hemamalini and popular actress Shobana are proposed to share screen space along with the other two actresses.
Further, they will be cast in the sequences featuring 8th century incidents. Another scoop is some of the sequences is to be shot near Sivasamudram waterfall, in Mandya District of Karnataka, and few others at various exquisite locales.

Kamal's 'Marmayogi' to kickstart soon
'Marmayogi' is garnering every bit of attention ever since it was announced and the latest news is that the film will start shooting in October in Mumbai. The film will be directed by Kamal and stars Trisha, Shreya, Hema Malini and Venkatesh apart from the versatile actor himself. The film is to be made in Tamil, English, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.
'Dasavatharam' opened across many theaters with mixed reviews but then has made it quite majestically to hundred days. Adding to this majestic appeal is the way 'Marma Yogi' is being planned.
Reports indicate that the Red Camera will be used and a Hollywood cinematographer has been roped in. Kamal and make-up are becoming synonymous these days and one can expect a flamboyant approach with this period film as well. A team of make-up specialists from Hollywood will be part of the team. A new technique called 'Spray Make-up' is being introduced to Indian Cinema with this film.
An extravagant Project Launch for the film is expected to take place in Mumbai after which shooting will commence. The team would fly to many parts of the world including Sweden and of course many parts in India. Set in the 7th century AD, 'Marmayogi' is expected to showcase a slice of life as it happened then including the diction and social themes.
Kamal Haasan is known to be quite a perfectionist and with his experience, one can expect a stunning affair.
Another huge factor that has to be spot on for 'Marmayogi' is the costumes part. Being a period film authenticity will have to be maintained in order to be accepted and Gauthami has been assigned this responsibility.
Keep watching this space for more updates as the days roll on.

Tamil tution for 'Marma Yogi' Shreya and Trisha
'Marma Yogi' started off with a photo shoot at the AVM Studios in Chennai recently and Kamal Haasan, Trisha, Shreya and Hema Malini were part of it. All actors looked ravishing at the photo shoot especially because of a new form of make-up that was used. Called Spray Make-Up, this is probably the first time it is used for an Indian film.
The results were there to see as both Trisha and Shreya glowed with radiance and charm. Kamal Haasan, who has written the script, will also be directing the film. Touted to be the costliest film to ever come from India the film will be shot using the most modern Red Camera. A cinematographer and a team of make-up artists from Hollywood are expected to be part of the film.
Interestingly, some prominent actors of the film who would dub for themselves like Trisha will be trained to speak in chaste Tamil as was spoken centuries ago. Trisha has been provided with a trainer who has started coaching her in Senthamizh. Looks like the perfectionist in Kamal Haasan does not want to leave any stone unturned.

Dasavatharam- 100 days of celebrating 10 Kamals
There is a famous quote, 'Perfection consists not in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well'. Another quote goes, 'Don't wait for extraordinary opportunities, seize common occasions and make them extraordinary. Weak men wait for opportunities, strong men make them'.
Which idea came first, the idea of 10 avatars or that of the man and the vial? Something like the chicken or the egg question, something only Kamal Haasan can answer. Look at it anyway, the Dasavatharam idea did not happen in a hurry, just like Rome was not built in a day. Initially there must have been just a spark which could have been that of man and the vial or that of 10 roles. But the spark was not let to flicker away, it was fanned till it was a flame.
All of us have these kinds of wild dreams and thoughts, but we tend to dismiss them as just wishful thoughts of an ambitious mind or shrink away at the thought of the enormity of the task of realizing the dream. It is those who believe in their dreams and are prepared to dedicate themselves to it that make history. Kamal Haasan, for all his achievements and reputation must have had his share
of detractors when he went with his dream. Why, even now there are people who doubt the quality of Dasavatharam, but let's not talk about that. But more than detractors Kamal chose to look only at the people who believed in his belief of his dream. He made the opportunity, seized it and used it in the most extraordinary way possible
They say 'Opportunity knocks only once'. But Kamal seems to think different, waiting for the knock is waste of time, go out and find the opportunity, the world is full of them. Today, the realization of that dream and opportunity completes 100 days in theaters. But 100 is just a number, a number that many movies have touched before and will do so after. But 10 is not just another number, only one man has done it and we doubt whether anyone else will.
Sathyam, INox, Abhirami, Mayajaal and other leading theaters proudly project the movie on its 100th day. Let's not look at any more numbers, that's for the business side to check out and they are mighty happy. Meanwhile, let's once again applaud the man who made the opportunity of a lifetime and the team that stood with him. Incidentally, another opportunity seems to have been discovered and it is named Marmayogi.

Marmayogi Trisha and Shreya
If a film has to be entered for awards, everyone must speak in their own voices. Dubbed voices are unacceptable. If Priya Mani had not spoken in her own voice in 'Paruthiveeran,' she would have missed her award.
Kamal is very alert to this. In 'Hey Ram,' he made even Shahrukh and Rani Mukherjee speak in their own voices. Asin's agrahara Tamil in 'Dasavataram' is her own voice.
In 'Marmayogi' also, everyone will dub for themselves. Even though Trisha is a Tamilian, she does not speak good Tamil. 'Marmayogi' is a historical film and the language is formal Tamil. So, Trisha is training to speak pure Tamil.
If that's the case with Trisha, what about Shreya? Kamal is not sparing her either. She is to speak in her own voice. Maybe Tamil will die a slow death!

Marmayogi Kamal and Venkatesh
Kamal Haasan's Magnum opus 'Marma Yogi' is scouting for the cast and crew for the film which is about to start filming. The days of stardom is fading away and times of incongruity is happening these days. Popular star Venkatesh is being cast alongside Kamal Haasan in a very prominent role in the movie. Although surprising, this news bolsters to provoke a healthy scenario for the film industry and to elevate the market nationally.
Produced by Pyramid Saimira 'Marma Yogi' is being made in three languages, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Buzz is that Venkatesh was approached by Kamal to play a key role in the flick. After the narration of the story, Venkatesh immediately gave his consent to do the project. Earlier his films were dubbed from Telugu to Tamil and he had worked also in Hindi.
Adding to this, a known fact is Trisha and Shriya have been roped in to play the lead roles. The script is based on a historical era for which Trisha is undergoing phonetic training to speak Tamil in a quaint manner. Director Kamal has expressed his desire to make the actors lend their own voices for which the above drill is done.
Universal star Kamal Haasan seems to be slick in gathering elements to make the film a coup like his 'Dasavatharam'.

Marmayogi in Trisha
Trisha is being taught historical Tamil with its ascent and pronunciation since the film Marmayogi is an historical film. The 100 Crore project is being produced by Pyramid Saimira and directed by Kamal Hassan. Trisha and Shreya are pairing with Kamal in the historical film. Kamal has requested these artistes to speak in their own voices instead of dubbing to order to get the real effect.
Kamal's assistants and Tamil teachers are now training Trisha to speak in immaculate Tamil. The photo session featuring Kamal and Trisha has already taken place in AVM Studios.

Kamal - Srividya romance is now a film!
tories based on tinsel world has always found its audiences in Kerala. In recent years Udayananu Tharam (Vellithira in Tamil) and Katha Parayumbol (Kuselan in Tamil) were blockbusters.
Now a Malayalam film released last Friday (Sep 12) for Onam Thirakatha (Screenplay) is turning out to be controversial.
It is said to be based on one of the biggest Kollywood romances of the late 70's between Kamal Hassan and top Tamil and Malayalam actress Srividya !
Srividya, one of the finest actresses in south, daughter of Carnatic singer M.L Vasanthakumari, had acted in over 150 films in Tamil and Malayalam and was known as the 'tragedy queen' in her personal life. She died a lonely death in 2006 in Thiruvananthapuram.
Two years after her death, leading Malayalam writer-director Ranjit who knew her at close quarters has made the film Thirakkatha featuring Prithviraj, Anup Menon and Priyamani, loosely based on her life and romance.
The film's promotional posters also feature Srividya's photo along with Padmarajan and Bharathan, two of the greatest writer- director team of 70's and early 80's, the 'Golden Age' of Malayalam cinema.
Director Ranjit in television interviews is quite candid that it is loosely based on Srividya's torrid affair with Kamal. However he goes on to add that there has been similar romances between leading men and their heroines from time immemorial.
The buzz is that Ranjit had access to Srividya's personal diaries she maintained. At one time Srividya was to publish her memoirs for a Malayalam weekly, but strangely it never saw the light of the day.
Meanwhile the film has taken a decent opening all over Kerala and the word of mouth is very good. The performance of Priyamani, is said to be brilliant. She plays Malavika an actress modeled on Srividya.
Newcomer Anup Menon is the superstar Ajaychandran, while Pritviraj plays a young director Akbar Ahmed a new age director who plans to write a script about the romance between Ajay and Malavika and her subsequent disappearance.
Thirakatha is one of the best films to have come out from Kerala in recent times. The climax, which will leave a lump in your throat is the highlight of the film, and Priyamani a spitting image of Srividya is excellent as she is able to bring out the various mood swings and frailties of a heartbroken and lonely actress.

Marmayogi Shooting start
Kamal is Big Project Marmayogi is all set to start shooting shortly. The big budget film is expected to cost over 120 crore, reportedly the most expensive Indian movie so far. Yester years dream girl, Hema Malini has already been signed up for the film. She had graced the audio release function of Kamal Haasan's Dasavathaaram, also spelt Dasavatharam, a while back.
Trisha had already committed herself for the film with bulk dates of about 200 days, which means that she will not be able to shoot for any other movie during that time. Though this meant turning down several plum offers in Telugu and Tamil, she jumped at the chance to work with Kamal Haasan and to get the role of a life time with the great actor.
Working with Kamal is so prestigious that leading heroine Shreya has agreed to play the second heroine in Marmayogi as well. Pyramid Saimira and Kamal Haasan's Raj Kamal films will be producing this magnum opus to be directed by the maestro Kamal himself. Previously, Kamal Haasan had directed Hey Raam and Virumandi, both critically and commercially acclaimed masterpieces. The movie will reportedly be made in four languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.

Kamal is Marmayogi Shreya
Kamal's craze for Mallika Shrewat is well known. It seems he is bored with that female who paired with him in the movie Dasavatharam. Now Kamal is getting ready to dance with Rajini and Vadivelu's favourite Shreya.
Undisclosed sources say disclose that Shreya is being negotiated to act with Kamal. While Trisha will be the girl of the movie, it is Shreya to do the item role.
Kamal's Marma Yogi will be filmed by teams working for Hollywood and Kamal is aiming to make the movie equivalent or better than that of Hollywood's!
Kamal will be announcing about his team for the movie by October 19 and that will be the official news, until then you can just enjoy reading gossips about the same!

Trisha and Shreya in Marmayogi?
Kollywood grapevine is very sure that Trisha and Shreya will star as heroines in Marmayogi, the 100-crore project of Kamal Haasan and Pyramid Saimira. Earlier, it was rumoured that Kajol and Padmapriya would act alongside Kamal Haasan. Well, if this news turns out true it will be a treat to watch the two most famous ladies of Kollywood together in a film for first time.
But one thing is for sure Marmayogi will feature Hema Malini, the dream girl of Bollywood in the 70s and 80s. Marmayogi is believed to be a period film, whose story and script have been written by Kamal Haasan; and whenever he has done that, he has produced a masterpiece; for example, Thevar Magan, Nala Damayanthi, Anbe Sivam, Hey Ram, Virumandi, Dasavathaaram, etc.

A. R. Rahman speaks on 'Marma Yogi'
'Marma Yogi', a mega-budget project set in the sixth century A.D. will bring Kamal Haasan and A. R. Rahman together after a gap of almost eight years. The last time Rahman scored music for a Kamal film was Thenali.
'It is very early to comment on the film but what I can say now is that I will do a bit of research, since this is a period film,' he says.
And how about working in an animation film Sultan, The Warrior? 'It is exciting, no doubt. It offers endless scope,' he puts it succinctly. Directed by Soundarya, daughter of Rajinikanth, the 3-D animation flick will feature the superstar as a mythological, larger than life hero. The multi-lingual film is being made in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Rahman has no intentions on working only for big banners. 'I would work in ventures where the focus is concentrated on music. That was the case with 'Sakkarakatti'. I am pleased the songs have gone down well with the audience'.
